Make the horse drink follows connections rather than a single subject.
Work is never just work. Products are shaped by organisations and people. Technology changes what becomes possible. Culture changes what people pay attention to. Stories change what people believe.
The interesting bit is usually where those things collide.
The outlook
There is value in frameworks, expertise and specialist language. There is also a point where every profession becomes too interested in explaining itself to itself.
This site looks outward. Product management appears often because it offers a useful way to think about decisions, uncertainty, behaviour and how things get made. But it sits alongside film, television, sport, technology, leadership, creative work and whatever else reveals something useful.
The aim is not to force everything into a lesson. It is to notice patterns, question received wisdom and follow an idea far enough to find out whether it is actually interesting.
Why the name?
You can build something, explain it, distribute it and make a compelling case for change. None of that guarantees anybody will care.
You can lead a horse to water. The interesting question is what makes it drink: motivation, context, timing, trust, incentives, meaning.
That question travels surprisingly well.
